About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and reliable Site Manager to join our team and ensure the smooth day-to-day operation, maintenance, and security of our school site. This is a key role responsible for providing a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the general maintenance, repair, and upkeep of school buildings and grounds
- Ensure health & safety compliance across the site, including regular inspections and risk assessments
- Manage site security, including lock/unlock procedures, alarms, and access control
- Coordinate and supervise contractors carrying out maintenance or improvement work
- Carry out minor repairs and maintenance tasks (plumbing, basic electrics, decorating, etc.)
- Monitor and manage maintenance budgets, supplies, and equipment
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements such as fire safety and emergency procedures
- Support lettings and out-of-hours activities where required
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience in a site management, facilities, or caretaking role
- Has a strong understanding of health & safety regulations
- Possesses good practical maintenance skills
- Is organised, dependable, and able to work independently
- Has good communication skills and works well as part of a team
- Is flexible and able to respond to emergencies when needed
Desirable Qualifications/Experience
- IOSH/NEBOSH Health & Safety certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience working in a school or educational environment
- Knowledge of safeguarding and compliance in education settings
